Come and join Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc.
for our “5th Anniversary Gala Concert”!! This
special event will celebrate our first
5 years of achievements,
services to our community, and to say “Mahalo” to all of you who
have generously supported our important mission for all people
of Hawaii.
Our performers include special guest, Shawn Livingston
Moseley, an acclaimed pianist, composer and producer.
Shawn is a “local boy” who by 8-years old was nationally ranked
as one of the top10 classical pianists in his age group. His
obvious talent later led him to the creative world of
composition and music production, working with many very
prestigious artists including Dave Matthews, Metallica, Elliot
Smith, and Destiny’s Child. While continuing to create and
compose his own music, and producing for his own record label,
Shawn’s strong belief in the healing power of music has never
wavered. His music will transform you significantly. Another
famous local musician, Ron Tish, creator of
“Hang Loose” will entertain and delight you with his smooth
voice and music. Ron is one of the founding board members of
Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc., a well-respected musician, and
an inspiring music educator. Our newest board member is
Master Shen Wu whose music will also be highlighted
during our celebration. Master Wu is the founder of Music Qi
Gong, which combines the ancient Chinese healing art with music.
Master Wu’s numerous concerts throughout the world have
attracted thousands of people who have felt his healing
serenity. We invite all of you to experience how powerfully his
music will touch your mind, body and spirit.
And… you’ll hear more music from our
clients, music therapists, physicians and board members.
This very special ANNIVERSARY GALA CONCERT will
astonish you with its power to refresh, rejuvenate and renew!!
Sounding Joy Music Therapy, Inc. is Hawaii’s first and only
non-profit, 501(c)3, organization to locally promote music
therapy. We also are Hawaii’s first Medicare and Medicaid
participating provider with music therapy. Our program is
supported in part by the State Foundation on Culture and the
Arts through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of
Hawaii, by the National Endowment for the Arts and the
Certification Board for Music Therapists. We depend on public
support for achieving our mission and improving people’s quality
of life through our programs and services.
