Cancer

At CHI Medical Center, we respect the theory that cancer is a metabolic disorder and approach it with a host of metabolic therapies and lifestyle management. Among the key elements in Dr. Christenson’s program are:

  • Evaluating metabolic influences for the type and stage of cancer
  • Reviewing each patient’s unique lifestyle for cancer-inducing factors
  • Restructuring a dietary regimen that generates a cellular oxygen-rich environment
  • Designing a metabolic cleansing, nutrifying and rejuvenating program

With cancer inhibiting polyphenol compounds, immune modulators and enhancers and balanced vitamin, mineral and enzyme nutrients

  • Supporting mitochondrial function which is a centerpiece in cellular metabolism
  • Complementing metabolic therapy with acupuncture, meditation, movement therapies and therapeutic harp
  • Supporting each patient with stress reduction therapies (EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique)
  • Acupuncture

Once an uncommon disease, cancer now has reached epidemic levels in the US and many European and Asian nations.  Many theories of what causes cancer have been postulated: genetic, bacterial, viral, environmental, chemical, hormonal, technological, etc… Although some cancers can be attributed to each of these factors, all cancers have a common denominator: they are initiated, promoted and metastasized from within the cellular systems of the metabolism, rendering cancer a metabolic disorder.

Knowing the intricacies of the metabolism and how our individual actions and reactions affect how the metabolism works or doesn’t work, is the foundation to an effective cancer remedy program. Rather than trying to kill or eradicate cancer cells, it may be more productive to reorder the metabolism so the environment of the body is not conducive to mutated cellular production. A hostile internal metabolism that is laden with toxic chemicals and toxic emotions is a prime destination for normal cells to transmute into cancer cells.

Dr. Otto Warburg, from Germany, won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1931 for his work on cell respiration, which was considered the basis for his understanding of carcinogenesis. Normal cells require oxygen to function. Cancer cells are anaerobic and can survive despite oxygen deficits. Warburg related dietary factors such as sugar, fat and meat as causing acidosis and healthy cells existing in an alkaline state.  In his own words: Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.”

Vegetarian diets have been proven to be cancer inhibitive largely because plants are photosynthesis factories and manufacture oxygen. Cancer cannot survive in an oxygen-rich environment, so diets rich in fruits and vegetables, provided they are not grown with chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides (known chemical carcinogens) give the body the nutrient foundation to maintain a healthy metabolism, rid the body of toxic acidic overload and enhance the defense properties of the immune system.

High sugar, high fat and high animal protein diets are culprits in degrading immunity, overburdening waste elimination and causing systemic malnutrition of critical antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and other vital metabolic boosters. It has been estimated that controllable factors, such as diet and lifestyle management, account for as much as 80% of cancer growth.  Toxic emotional states such as anger, depression, anxiety and others set the stage for internal hostility and cellular mutation.

Landmark recent research into nano-particle curcumin, extracted and potentiated from turmeric, has shown positive results in conversion of cancer stem cells to avert tumorogenesis and metastasis in various cancer cell lines, such as colorectal, prostate, breast and pancreas. As more research is done, the use of nutraceutical interventions such as nano-particle herbs and the upcoming sciences of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics will provide advanced non-toxic and non-invasive state-of-the-art treatment modalities.

Patient Testimonials

“Thank you for guiding me to better nutrition and herbal remedies. My energy is better. My hair is not falling as much when I brush my hair. I see small amount of hair is growing back on my forehead. I am feeling good when I come to your office. I feel very positive and grounded. I feel so good my oncologist will do follow up every 6 weeks instead of every 3 weeks. They are evaluating the spread of my breast cancer to the bone. I am very confident with your energy work. When you gave me guided imagery I went to another “Zone”. It was very peaceful and beautiful. I felt so happy when I was there. I was energized. Thank you so much.” – Elaine P.

“You have my recent bone scan showed breast cancer mets to cervical bone has improved and one area showed cancer resolved. There was no new bone metastases. My oncologist used to roll his eyes when I told him about my health diet and Chinese herbs and acupuncture treatment from you. He used to say if bone scan showed worse spread he would give me chemo. Now he is not talking about chemo. He also withdraw monthly blood test to every 3 months. He told me to keep doing what I have been doing which seems to work and see him in 3 months instead of once a month. I want to thank you for all the treatment, teaching and support to my health.” – Elaine P.
